In the company of books i sit yo read
and they take me to the world of books
they awake my curiosity
i throbe pagre by page
to know what happens next
but they take me far away from the world of reality
and lead me to the world of illusion
full of fantasies,happiness , imagination
as i come to the end of the page
they soon take me back to the world of reality
where i realize reality is full of pain ,bitter and hard to accept

It is a novel that talks about a rape victim kalpana.Rape is seen even in marriage in the case of urmi's mother in law mira through her poems she expresses her hatred of how her husband forced himself upon her.mira symblizes women who are forced in to loveless marriage and become victim to rape in marriage.The novel in general talks about a rape victim.when a girl or a women is rape she is seen as a disgrace in her family.Especially if is a unmarried girl the parents usually try to hush it up because they fear that no body would come to marry the raped girl girl .Thus in a country like india rape is usually hushed up .The blame is usually put on the girl rather than the man who committed it .thus rape victim donot come forward to report it either .thus through the character of kalpana the author emphasis on women to come forward to report rape.this can be seen in the case of urmi who comes forward to fight for the justice of rape victim kalpana .urmi stands for women of courage and strength.
